In Panama SUEZ wins a contract to optimize the capital's drinking water network
IDAAN , Panama’s National Institute of Water and Wastewater Distribution has entrusted SUEZ a technical assistance contract to improve the institute’s operational and economic management of its services. With a duration of five years, the contract, supported by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), will improve the quality of the services provided to approximately 2 million inhabitants of Panama’s metropolitan area (more specifically the Panama Metro, Panama West and Panama East neighborhoods).
SUEZ will support IDAAN in the choice of its strategic orientations, in its operational management and in the development of ambitious targeted study projects to ensure optimized production and distribution of drinking water to the inhabitants of Panama. The Group will also leverage its expertise to conduct specific studies, including to update the register for the local water network and its users, to develop a master plan and an adapted business plan, and to transfer knowledge to local teams. 13 Group experts will support their counterparts at IDAAN to provide them with overall technical assistance. Following diagnostics carried out on works and to meet inhabitants’ needs, SUEZ will support IDAAN by deploying its innovative technologies to reduce water losses and to optimize the city’s drinking water networks in order to develop an effective water management system across the metropolitan area of Panama’s capital city.
