Taking action to save water while contributing to local development in Kolkata

In the Cossipore district of Kolkata, India, we are engaged in a programme to drastically reduce water losses and improve the quality of service for 420,000 residents.
It involves upgrading the network, optimising pressure, detecting and repairing leaks, using analysis tools based on artificial intelligence and developing innovative collaborations with local communities. 

​As part of the programme, we are working with local women’s self-help group Jal Bandhus to raise awareness about water preservation, as well as training women in plumbing, enabling them to diversify their income.
