As a global leader in the water and waste management sectors, we have been operating for over 160 years all over the world. We provide essential services to protect the resource and improve quality of life wherever we operate.
Headed by Sabrina Soussan, our Group is supported by a solid consortium of shareholders and a governance structure built around a Board of Directors and an Executive Committee.
At SUEZ, working to serve the environment is our day-to-day reality. In our water and waste businesses, our teams take action on the ground and help find solutions to build a sustainable future.
Since the beginning of the health crisis, SUEZ has been active alongside its clients, ensuring the continuity of essential services in every country in which it is present. Today, our mission is to support the recovery of their businesses, wherever possible, ensuring strict respect for everyone's safety. Our group is also committed to promoting a green economy revival.
In many countries, the health crisis now appears to be under control, although the epidemic is still active in some parts of the world. We are learning to live with the virus and adopting resilient behaviour that will support the economic recovery.
We guaranteed the service continuity and quality that we owe to our clients in a difficult situation. We provided our expertise to businesses during this critical period to ensure the long-term survival of their activities, either during production interruptions or slowdowns, or to support the peaks of production of essential goods.
Now, during this period of recovery, we remain close to our clients with the same commitment. Wherever possible, we are implementing business recovery plans specific to each industrial sector to assist the total or gradual resumption of activity. Thus, to help restart some plants that were forced to shut down, our teams have shared their expertise in terms of maintaining or restarting industrial water processing plants, notably by organising webinars.
Here are a few example of how we are supporting the resumption of economic activities today:
In France, we have developed a methodology to respond to business needs concerning the organisation required for managing new waste (masks, gloves, etc.), while preserving the health and safety of employees and clients.
This methodology includes an online self-evaluation tool to provide an initial assessment of whether the company’s waste management system is adequate for the current health crisis; a free, ready-to-use signage kit for use at their site(s), to help with sorting contaminated waste and ensure safe distances are respected; and a selection of waste management and personal protective equipment: contaminated waste containers, health textiles and hand sanitiser stations.
Construction sector: a kit for the re-opening of building sites
HESUS and SUEZ have developed reprenonsleschantiers.fr, a comprehensive scheme to help professionals in the construction sector. During the lockdown, several thousand construction sites in France came to a standstill.
This relaunch package helps to limit physical contact between site workers as far as possible. If also offers sites the chance to adopt an approach based on innovation and grasp the fundamental new trends sweeping across the construction sector, such as digitalisation and the circular economy.
In India, we have shared a 7-step methodology to help companies to restart the membrane processes of the wastewater treatment plants that were shut down.
In Morocco, we provided support to Renault Morocco as it resumed activity at its Somaca and Tangier production sites. Anwar Belmajoub, Environment Manager at Renault Tangier, explains: "We have agreed a recovery plan with SUEZ that combines the mutual requirements of our two groups, strict respect for health measures and the maintenance of our productivity." A favoured partner of the car manufacturer in Morocco for over ten years, we ensure the sustainable management of its industrial waste.
