FDJ and SUEZ renew their commitment to France's premier women's cycling team for 3 more seasons
This significant announcement for the French cycling scene confirms the support of two major French companies for women's sport, and reinforces the vision and values of diversity and inclusion espoused by two women leaders, Sabrina Soussan and Stéphane Pallez, respectively Chairman and CEO of SUEZ and the FDJ Group.
Following the renewal of support from its two partners, the FDJ-SUEZ team is commencing a new phase of development with the objective of attaining the highest level of performance within the international peloton. The team has already announced several significant new appointments, including Demi Vollering, the top UCI Women's World Tour rider for the last three years, Juliette Labous, the reigning French road champion, and cyclists Elise Chabbey, Ally Wollaston, Célia Géry and Eglantine Rayer. These additions demonstrate the team's ambitious plans for the coming years.
A long-standing player in cycling in France, FDJ has supported the men's cycling team, now Groupama - FDJ, since 1997. Since 2023, SUEZ has also been an official partner of the Tour de France Femmes with Zwift, providing services for the distribution of drinking water and the optimisation of waste management.
FDJ-SUEZ: from a local team to a world-class team
The FDJ-SUEZ team was created in 2006 to enable a young female cyclist to realise her sporting potential. Under the impetus of its General Manager, Stephen Delcourt, it has grown over the years to become one of the top teams on the elite UCI Women's World Tour. In 2017, the FDJ Group became a partner of the team and in June 2022, SUEZ joined as title co-sponsor.
The first French team to reach the world's top level, the Tricolore team has enjoyed several major successes in the Tour de France Femmes with Zwift or the Vuelta España and in the cycling monuments of Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the Amstel Gold Race or La Flèche Wallonne.
Stéphane Pallez, Chairman and CEO of the FDJ Group: “Season after season, we never cease to be in awe of the FDJ-SUEZ team, its exceptional sporting and human potential and its ability to inspire and guide a new generation of women into the sport. We have a complete confidence in Stephen Delcourt to build a sporting project that will take us to the pinnacle of world sport. Alongside the more than 29,000 retailers in the FDJ network who support the team in all the French races on the calendar, we look forward to the 2025 season with hope and conviction.”
