Prague’s new wastewater treatment plant awarded with the “Czech Water construction of the year 2021” recognition
The Prague new wastewater treatment plant, which has a treatment capacity of 345 000m3/day, was awarded the “Czech Water construction of the year 2021” by the SOVAK Water Supply and Sewerage Association of the Czech Republic and the Czech Union of Water Business (SVH).
This award is a recognition of the technical expertise deployed for the construction of this plant, carried out by a Consortium of SMP, Hochtief, Wassertechnik Essen (WTE) and SUEZ for the Municipality of Prague.
Located on an island in the Vltava river, in an urban area close to the touristic locations of the Troja castel and Prague Zoo, the plant is semi-buried, entirely covered to fit in its environment, and built to resist to floods. It is also soundproofed and deodorised to prevent any form of nuisance for the inhabitants. Its process is based on robust, compact and high-performance SUEZ’s patented technologies Densadeg® (2D and 4D) and Drainis™ Turbo.
Beginning of 2020 the new water line ended successfully its trial operation and was handed over to the Municipality of Prague.
