INDIA COVID 19 EMERGENCY: The Fondation SUEZ responds to the “CARE France” emergency call
The COVID19 pandemic has been taking its toll in India for several weeks and still is as of today. The new wave is now out of control, the health system is exploding: hospitals are in need of everything from intensive care beds to oxygen, drugs, and manpower.
Faced with this unprecedented crisis in the country and for the sake of efficiency, CARE France, partner of the Fondation SUEZ, has set up a COVID19 India Emergency Fund to provide a global response, which will pool the available resources and allow more action to be taken, widely wherever needed in the country.
In addition to the mobilization of the SUEZ teams in India, the Fondation SUEZ responded to the emergency appeal of the NGO which provides:
medical support: support for health centers and the opening of new temporary ones in the states most affected by the pandemic (supply of essential medical equipment: beds, oxygen, protective equipment for caregivers, drugs and vaccines).
preventive actions: raising public awareness of appropriate behavior and vaccination.
support for populations: food aid distributions.
CARE works alongside public authorities and healthcare stakeholders.
CARE has been in India for over 70 years to help lift the most vulnerable populations out of poverty through health, education, economic development, and disaster preparedness and response programs.
