SUEZ–SA Water partnership delivers top drop
SA Water’s Anstey Hill Water Treatment Plant, a facility operated in partnership with SUEZ, has claimed first prize for Best Tasting Tap Water in this year’s Water Industry Operators Association competition.
The plant in Adelaide’s north-east received the award for the state’s top drop, defeating entries from 19 other water treatment sites in the state.
The award comes less than six months after SUEZ began operating the treatment facility alongside SA Water as part of the Production and Treatment Alliance. The partnership sees SUEZ meeting the water needs of metropolitan Adelaide by operating and maintaining five drinking water and five wastewater treatment plants catering to the needs of around 1.2 million people.
Roberto Bianchi, SUEZ’s chief operating officer, water, said the award was recognition of the customer-focussed ethos that he sees as the mainstay of SUEZ’s approach to every project.
“While we’re thrilled at what we’ve been able to deliver for the people of Adelaide in such a short period of time, our previous partnerships with SA Water have always placed us in good stead to meet and exceed customer expectations,” he said.
The first five months of the contract have allowed SUEZ to further the already successful relationship the company had built with SA Water over the past 10 years.
SUEZ is proud of the commitment the Alliance team shows every day to deliver the highest quality water from this premium facility – rain, hail or shine.
Anstey Hill Water Treatment Plant is the second-largest treatment facility in South Australia. A conventional filtration method is used prior to a chlorination process to ensure the highest quality water is distributed across the city of Adelaide.
Anstey Hill will now face off against entrants from around Australia at the national awards in early 2022 when it vies for the top prize as Australia’s Best Tasting Tap Water.
